Through a grant from the National Security Agency, the University at Albany School of Business is offering two courses to train faculty new to cybersecurity in the subject matter and then offering teaching workshops to help faculty learn to teach the material.

Students who begin the MS in Digital Forensics in the fall of 2021 will be eligible for a $5,000 scholarship, nearly half the cost of the master’s program, through a grant that School of Business Professor Sanjay Goel received from the National Security Agency. As part of their studies, MS Digital Forensics students also earn the Graduate Certificate in Information Security.

Chief Diversity Officer at Goldman Sachs Erika Irish Brown ’91 and other notable alums will speak to students on Friday, March 5.

The 12th annual Capital Region Business Plan Competition will be hosted by the University at Albany School of Business on April 9th, 2021. In 2021, the regional and state-level business plan competitions will be hosted as virtual events. The top two winning teams in each track at the regional competition represent the Capital Region at the New York Business Plan Competition May 7, 2021.

Emeritus Associate Professor Jagdish Gangolly taught and researched at UAlbany from 1979 until 2011. During his tenure, he explored the field of textual analysis well before it became of interest of fellow researchers. In response to industry, he developed graduate concentrations in accounting information Systems for accounting and MBA students and an MS in forensic accounting. He also established the Junior Accounting Orientation sponsored by top public accounting firms.

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business has granted the School of Business maintenance of accreditation after a successful peer review. UAlbany transitioned its business education program to a traditional school of business in the 1960s. The school has maintained its AACSB accreditation since it was first granted in 1974, and was the first school in the world to be recognized by AACSB at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

The UAlbany MS Taxation is ranked at the top of “Best Masters in Taxation Programs” by Best Value Schools. It is the second time that this program has been highly ranked by Best Value Schools.

Evening MBA student Prachi Bharadwaj competed solo in an international business simulation competition and came home with third prize.
