Reception Honors Newly Tenured and Promoted Faculty

ALBANY, N.Y. (Oct. 13, 2022) — A reception at the University Art Museum Wednesday afternoon celebrated newly promoted faculty and librarians. Twenty-eight were promoted to associate professor and associate librarian, tenured positions, and another seven were promoted from associate professor to full professor.

In his opening remarks, President Havidán Rodríguez offered congratulations, noting that reaching these milestones is a “measure of excellence.”

The president spoke about the impact faculty have on students’ lives and noted that career growth takes not only hard work, but support from colleagues, mentors and family. “There is no such thing as individual success,” he said. “It’s a collective success.”
