COVID-19 Testing: Don’t assume, get tested!
If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, it’s important to call SHS to get tested and to isolate until you know your results. UAlbany provides nose swab PCR (polymerase chain reaction) testing to UAlbany students via LabCorp through Student Health Services in the Health and Counseling Building. The New York State Department of Health also provides options for other testing sites.

To schedule a test at SHS, please

    • Call 518-442-5229 to schedule an appointment
    • Bring insurance information as testing is billed to insurance.

The University also conducts surveillance testing to help control the spread of COVID-19 among its campus community. This is different than PCR testing. Surveillance testing monitors the presence of the virus within the community and PCR testing is then used to diagnostically confirm a positive case. For more information about how the program works, where you can pick up a testing kit, or how to provide a sample, visit the Surveillance Testing webpage.

If you are confirmed to be COVID-19 positive, you must follow UAlbany and county health guidelines for isolation and quarantine . Visit the COVID-19 Health & Safety webpage for details.

For more information about COVID-19, please visit the Albany County Department of Health website.
