The School of Education at the University at Albany, part of the State University of New York, continues to garner recognition as the top ranking public school of education in New York and #2 in the Northeast, according to the U.S. News & World Report’s 2020 “Best Graduate Schools” rankings.

EPL well represented in leadership roles around the world   Albany, NY (October 16, 2018) – Gilbert A. Valverde, acting chair of the Department of Educational Policy & Leadership (EPL), was invited to deliver the inaugural address at the 40th bi-annual meeting of the Country Coordinators of the Latin American Laboratory for Assessment of the Quality of Education (LLECE) in Lima, Perú in September. Dr. Valverde was then invited to assume the role of Senior Advisor to this Latin American group of 19 countries that conduct large-scale cross-national assessments in mathematics, science and reading in the primary grades, part of UNESCO’s Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean.
