Online Graduate Education in Top Ten for Five Straight Years
Albany, NY (January 26, 2021) – Today, U.S. News & World Report announced the University at Albany’s School of Education is once again ranked among the top ten in the nation for providing a high-quality, online graduate education. This is the fifth straight year that the School has been ranked in the top ten nationally and #1 in New York state and throughout New England. In a year like no other, the School of Education emerged as a leader to provide opportunities for many students to continue their pursuit of advanced credentials in education and mental health.

Virginia Goatley Honored with Statewide Award for Service Leadership
Albany, NY (December 4, 2020) - Virginia Goatley, professor and chair of Literacy Teaching and Learning, is the 2020 recipient of the Charles C. Mackey, Jr. Excellence in Service Leadership Award, given by the New York Association of Colleges of Teacher Education. The Mackey Award honors an educator in New York who has exemplified the highest standards of service leadership in teacher education.

Applebee Award Honors Examination of US-Mexican Transnational Youth Engagement with Music
Albany, NY (December 4, 2020) – Dr. Cati V. de los Ríos of Berkeley Graduate School of Education was honored with the 2020 Arthur Applebee Award for Excellence in Research on Literacy for her article, “los Músicos”: Mexican Corridos, the Aural Border, and the Evocative Musical Renderings of Transnational Youth, published in Harvard Educational Review.
