Join us at the 5th annual SOE Day!

Friday, October 4, 2019

Campus Center Ballroom

SOE Day is a celebration of our work and a time to welcome those from around the campus and the wider community to learn about and discuss issues of education and mental health.

Sessions will run from 9am through 5pm. The event is free and open to the public—faculty, students, staff, and administrators from around campus as well as educators, partners, and other stakeholders from around the Capital Region.

Gary Langer, President of Langer Research Associates, will deliver the day’s keynote address: “Challenges and Opportunities for Public Education: The 2019 PDK and Digital Promise Surveys” and a panel presentation will follow on the “Changing Public Perception of Education” featuring Kaweeda Adams, Superintendent, Albany City School District; Gladys Cruz, District Superintendent, Questar III BOCES;  Joseph Dragone, Senior Executive Officer, Capital Region BOCES;  Gary Langer, President, Langer Research Associates; Alex Pieterse, Associate Professor, School of Education, UAlbany; David Ziskin, District Superintendent, Hamilton-Fulton-Montgomery BOCES; and moderated by Jason Lane, Interim Dean, School of Education, UAlbany.

The detailed program will help you plan your day.

Feel free to come and go during the day as you please and encourage others—on and off campus—to attend.

You already know how essential education is to the well-being of our communities, state, and nation.  Come join us Friday, October 4, in the Campus Center to hear how UAlbany’s School of Education and its campus and community partners are working together to continue to advance this essential enterprise.
