75%
of pre-health advisees accepted into medical school were Biology majors
The Biological Sciences Department at the University at Albany offers graduate programs leading to PhD and Master’s degrees in Biology as well as a Professional Science Management Certificate program that allow students to participate in research while preparing for successful careers around the world.
Each graduate program offers “core” areas of focus. The PhD program in Biology focuses on Molecular, Cellular, Developmental, and Neural Biology (MCDN); the Master’s program in Biology offers master’s degrees in Forensic Science Investigation and Management and Biological Sciences; and the certificate program offers a Professional Science Management Certificate in Forensic Biology.
The faculty and students in the Department of Biological Sciences at UAlbany are actively engaged in research in a highly-diverse variety of research topics and projects addressing a spectrum of issues of interest and concern to the scientific and general community.
