Banner Exhibit Highlights University’s Community Engaged Scholars

A banner hangs from a light post on campus on a sunny fall day, with the carillon in the background. The banner includes the University at Albany logo and the Community Engaged Scholars logo, as well as a the words, "Lani V. Jones, PhD, Social Welfare and Women's Gender and Sexuality Studies, College of Integrated Health Sciences" and a photo of Lani V. Jones.

Twenty faculty members from across the University at Albany are being honored for their outstanding community engaged scholarship, teaching, creative work and service through a colorful new banner exhibit along the pathways of the University Hall Commons on UAlbany’s Uptown Campus.

Each featured scholar is a former recipient of the President’s Award for Exemplary Public Engagement, the highest honor the University bestows on individuals, projects and programs for their outstanding contributions to addressing a significant community need and enhancing the public good.

“We’re very proud to highlight and applaud these extraordinary scholars for their commitment to public engagement. This display truly reflects the vibrant and dynamic energy our scholars bring to their important and impactful work across multiple disciplines,” said Mary Hunt, director of public engagement. “It’s exciting to be able to share that with the entire UAlbany community and our many visitors to campus. We look forward to adding more community engaged faculty members to the exhibit in the coming months.”
