Food Systems in Crisis
The State University of New York has awarded Rockefeller College Associate Professor Luis Luna-Reyes a SUNY research seed grant for his proposal, “Food Systems in Crisis: Dynamic Local Foodsheds as Safety Nets.”

Research Spotlight: U.S. Households’ Disaster Preparedness
Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy PhD alumna Lucila M. Zamboni and Associate Professor Erika G. Martin have teamed up on a manuscript entitled, “Association of US Households’ Disaster Preparedness With Socioeconomic Characteristics, Composition, and Region.” The article, published on JAMA Network Open, identifies disparities in disaster preparedness among U.S. households using nine preparedness items.

Faculty Q&A: Lucy Sorensen
Lucy Sorensen is an assistant professor in Rockefeller College’s Department of Public Administration and Policy. Her experiences moving with her family and changing schools numerous times motivated her to study the sources of educational inequality, and to do research that could inform policy solutions.

Rockefeller Faculty to Join COVID-19 Virtual Town Hall
Rockefeller College Professor of Political Science Julie Novkov will lend her expertise on Monday, April 20th in a virtual town hall hosted by the College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity (CEHC) and School of Public Health (SPH). Professor Novkov will discuss the constitutional struggle between the nation’s president and state governors during the current coronavirus crisis.

SLGF Awarded Research Grant for Pension Plan Analysis
The Research Foundation for The State University of New York has awarded Rockefeller College’s co-directors of the Project on State and Local Government Finance (SLGF) Donald J. Boyd and Gang Chen a grant for their project, “California Public Pension Plan Policy Analysis.”
