About

Michael Schantz is a New York-based actor and director with a diverse career in theatre, film and television. He previously served as Adjunct Faculty in Acting at UAlbany. 

On screen, Schantz has appeared in The History of Sound (Cannes, In Competition), FBI (CBS), Power Book III: Raising Kanan (Starz), Three Women (Starz), City on a Hill (Showtime), "The Blacklist" (NBC), and Wu-Tang: An American Saga (Hulu). 

On stage he has worked extensively at the country’s most prestigious theaters including New York Theater Workshop, Page 73, Mint Theater Company, Denver Center Theater Company, Guthrie Theater, Alley Theater, Bard Summerscape, Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey, New York Stage and Film and Virginia Stage among others. He has directed numerous productions at The Stella Adler Studio of Acting and is a co-founder of Wheelhouse Theater Company, whose productions have garnered critical acclaim, including NY Times Critics' Picks, Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel nominations. He lives in Manhattan with his fiancé and daughter.
