Languages, Literatures and Cultures

LLC hosts a variety of extracurricular activities, including language tables, clubs, seminars, film festivals and other special events.  Come join us as we explore and learn together!

Language tables and clubs meet regularly during the academic year (suspended over breaks and summer) to speak the language in informal settings and enjoy the community.

LLC's seminars provide a variety of academic topics engaging LLC, the university and the community. 

French Diplôme de français professionnel (DFP):  UAlbany is a certified testing site offering the French DFP Affaires, an internationally recognized certification of competence in Business French from the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  The DFP (level) A2 exam is open to the public and offered every May.  Each spring we also offer a Business French (AFRE270) course to prepare for this exam.  For more information, contact site coordinator Véronique Martin ([email protected]) or the LLC Office 518-442-4100.  We do not currently administer the TEF exam (for other testing sites, see:  More information.
