Note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic on-site meetings and gatherings have been canceled or moved online. While the physical LLC Office is closed, staff continue to work remotely. For more information on UAlbany’s response to the pandemic please visit the university's COVID-19 page.
The Languages, Literatures and Cultures department coordinates many events, including language tables, clubs, seminars and study groups. LLC's language tables and clubs meet regularly during the academic year (suspended over breaks and summer) to speak the language and enjoy time together conversing in informal settings. LLC's seminars provide an academic forum on a variety of interesting topics engaging LLC, the university and the community. Check here for more information on the format of tables, clubs, seminars and other events as these may vary due to COVID-related restrictions.

UAlbany, French Students Take Turns as Experts and Learners in ‘Conversation’
Share your thoughts. Share your culture. Share your language. Through the experience and initiative of French Studies Lecturer Véronique Martin, students in her upper level course “French Conversation” are achieving all three objectives, enhancing their language studies by way of three sessions per semester devoted to online webcasts with students in France. These interactions are a good fit with the University’s priorities of greater internationalization, engagement, and appreciation of diversity.
