GOLD Giving

GOLD: Young Alumni Making a Difference

Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) – LIKE YOU – help to enrich the student experience by contributing to a variety of funds and initiatives at UAlbany. You are instrumental in helping students receive much needed financial aid, explore career and internship options in unique and valuable fields, and participate in renowned educational conferences and programs.

GOLD Giving Initiatives

You don’t have to wait until you've reached a milestone in your career or made a lot of money. Your philanthropy can have a positive impact on students right now. Gifts of all sizes add up, and we hope you will consider supporting one of our three selected programs.

UAlbany Cares

UAlbany Cares includes three funds that support our students in times of need. The Emergency Relief Fund provides funding to students facing a financial emergency. The Purple Pantry addresses food insecurity among UAlbany students. Purple Threads is a free professional clothing closet available to current students. Make a gift today.

Jonathan Whyte-Dixon Memorial Scholarship

Jonathan Whyte-Dixon, who passed away in July 2018, provided significant leadership on the UAlbany campus, particularly to the Orientation Office, Residential Life, Gender & Sexuality Resource Center and Liberty Partnerships Program. His enthusiasm and passion for changes in education and social justice left an imprint everywhere he went. This scholarship recognizes a student who best exemplifies Jonathan’s school spirit, meaningful involvement within the UAlbany community, leadership on campus and overall enthusiasm and passion. Make a gift today.

Disability Resource Center

The Disability Resource Center supports students by ensuring a fully accessible living and learning environment in order to prepare students for a successful future. Support is needed for ASL interpreters, assistive technologies, educational programming and more. The Center also needs endowed positions to support more staff – the Center has grown from serving 500 students three years ago to more than 700 this year. Make a gift today.
