Ron Forbes' impact on the School of Business is almost immeasurable.
Even though he retired more than 20 years ago, Professor Emeritus Ron Forbes’ name routinely rings through the halls of the School of Business. For all the right reasons. During his tenure, Forbes established a robust training arena for municipal finance, preparing his students for impressive careers. According to finance faculty and Associate Dean for International Programs Rita Biswas, he was one of the few faculty members who could teach both theory and application with authority.

He suggests that the way leaders make sense of the world, a concept called “sensemaking,” directly predicts how they will respond to problems.

Two highly anticipated information technology-related programs made stunning debuts this fall, unhampered by the pandemic.
These programs expand the extensive technology-related offerings of the School of Business, including the BS in digital forensics, an undergraduate concentration in business analytics, a graduate certificate in information security and MBA concentrations in information systems and business analytics and cybersecurity.

UHY LLP Sponsored Class in Data Analytics
Thanks to a partnership between UHY LLP and the School of Business, accounting students have a new elective, “Data Analytics for Audit and Control." The class is built on a twenty year relationship with UHY, particularly with Howard Foote, the longtime office managing partner of Capital Region UHY.
Foote is impressed with the leadership of UAlbany and the School of Business, the school’s dual AACSB accreditation in business and accounting, and the high standards for coursework. “UHY’s support of the class is a heartfelt recognition of what the school offers. The core values of the school, particularly ‘From Opportunity to Impact’ resonates with us,” said Foote.
