About Us

The SPA office seeks to deliver support services to the Division of Research in an efficient and professional manner, while still remaining in full compliance with the policies of the University at Albany, the Research Foundation for The State University of New York, sponsor guidelines, and all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.

The office also serves to promote the ethical and responsible conduct of research through serving as a resource for researchers. The office provides policy guidance, support procedures, training, education, and advice to aid researchers in the development, submission, and throughout the life-cycle of research proposals and protocols, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.

The SPA office will help to identify compliance risks and will communicate those risks to principal investigators, key personnel, and to the research community on an as needed basis.

Finally, the office monitors and investigates instances of non-compliance to protect the research reputation of the University at Albany and its faculty, staff, and students.
