What is a degree application? 

UAlbany students must apply for graduation in order to receive a diploma or certificate. If you will complete all your degree or certificate requirements by the end of this semester, you must submit an online degree application

Once you have applied for graduation, you may view your graduation status online. 

When applying for graduation, please check the personal information you have on file with UAlbany to ensure it is correct.

Apply for Graduation

Spring 2024

Spring 2024 online degree applications open on January 2, 2024 and are due by February 16, 2024. Late degree applications may be submitted until the online degree application closes on May 8, 2024. 

Note: Graduate students must also complete the electronic submission of dissertation or thesis by May 1, 2024, if applicable.

If you need to apply for Spring 2024 graduation after May 8, 2024, please complete the Graduation Application Form - Prior Term.

Summer 2024

Summer 2024 online degree applications open on April 15, 2024 and are due by August 9, 2024. 

Note: Graduate students must also complete the electronic submission of dissertation or thesis by August 1, 2024, if applicable.

If you need to apply for Summer 2024 graduation after August 9, 2024, please complete the Graduation Application Form - Prior Term.

Fall 2024

Fall 2024 online degree applications open on August 12, 2024 and are due by December 17, 2024. 

Note: Graduate students must also complete the electronic submission of dissertation or thesis by December 1, 2024, if applicable.

If you need to apply for Fall 2024 graduation after December 17, 2024, please complete the Graduation Application Form - Prior Term.

Withdrawing a Degree Application

If you need to withdraw your degree application, please complete the Graduation Application - Withdrawal Form

Please monitor your UAlbany email inbox after submitting a degree application.

The Registrar’s Office reviews all undergraduate degree applications and notifies undergraduate students of their graduation status via email. If you are missing any degree requirements, you will receive an email asking you to review details in EAB Navigate

Earn up to 19 Credits this Summer

Take classes online or in person. Our eight sessions — spanning four, six or twelve weeks — provide the flexibility you need to study, work and relax this summer.

Cost & Billing

Review per-credit tuition and fees. You will be financially liable for any courses for which you register.  

Note: Visiting students are not eligible for online tuition rates and will be charged at the standard rate based on residency status, regardless of course modality.  For current information on billing and payments, please visit E-Pay.

Financial aid is not available for non-degree students. If you are a visiting student from another college or university, please contact your home institution regarding financial aid.

Financial aid is available for degree-seeking UAlbany students.

Academic Expectations & Rules

For academic regulations and course prerequisites, please refer to the Undergraduate Bulletin and/or Graduate Bulletin.

Note: Once admitted, non-degree undergraduate students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA). If you don’t maintain a 2.0 GPA and/or fail to complete your courses, you may be subject to dismissal.
