Human Resources Newsletter: May 2026
Greetings colleagues!
As we wrap up another academic year, we want to extend our sincere thanks to all of you for your continued dedication and professionalism.
Thanks to your commitment, we achieved an impressive 95% completion rate for our annual compliance trainings (UAlbany series, Title VI, and Ethics), an outstanding accomplishment that reflects our shared responsibility and care for our community.
As summer approaches, we encourage you to take time to rest, reflect, and rejuvenate. Thank you for all you do, and we wish you a safe, relaxing and well‑deserved summer ahead.
Warm regards,
Gary Evans
Chief Human Resources Officer

Highlights Across Campus
Our feature for May is our Milestones Honorees for 2026!
We were honored to recognize and celebrate the years of service of over 300 faculty and staff members in March. This ceremony honored employees who had reached significant service anniversaries, starting from 20 years of service to 45 years of service, and acknowledges their contributions to the institution’s success and community. We are so lucky to have these individuals as members of our UAlbany community.
For our next newsletter in August, share a picture of your team exploring our campus and any critters you may find along the way. This can include a walk to Parker Pond to visit the ducks or fish, a lunch on the Podium with a squirrel or two, or any animals you may find wandering around campus.
HR Roundabout
From Mid-January to May, we welcomed 70 new employees to campus! We appreciate the continued collaboration from departments across campus as we on-board new staff.
Additionally, we congratulate the 22 retirees we off-boarded this semester and wish them the best.
