Nestled in Albany’s Upper Madison Neighborhood, Great Dane Apartments is the full-year home to over 200 sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students.
Just blocks from the Madison Avenue Commercial District, residents live only minutes from shops, stores and restaurants while enjoying Residential Life amenities.

Great Dane Apartments is a four-story apartment building with geothermal heating and air conditioning to support UAlbany’s sustainability mission of energy efficiency.
Apartment Amenities
- Bedrooms: All bedrooms are singles, with two or four bedrooms per apartment. Each bedroom comes fully furnished with a traditional twin-sized mattress, bed frame, chair and desk, and a dresser.
- Bathrooms: Two-bedroom apartments have one bathroom, and four-bedroom apartments have two bathrooms.
- Kitchens: Kitchens are fully equipped with a refrigerator, oven, stove range, microwave and dishwasher. A dining table and chairs are also provided.
- Living Rooms: Living rooms are fully furnished with a couch, chairs and tables.
- Laundry: Each floor in Great Dane Apartments has a laundry room with washers and dryers.
- Utilities: Heat, water, electricity, internet and trash/sewer are all included.
- Air Conditioning: All apartments have air conditioning with a self-controlled thermostat.
Complex Amenities
- Central Lounge: The Great Dane Central Lounge is an open space for residents to gather, study and meet for events.
- Study Rooms: Space for residents to study is available on each floor.
- Bus Stops: Residents are walking distance from a CDTA bus stop.
- Parking: There is a large student parking lot available directly behind Great Dane Apartments.
