Mathias Vuille's research focuses on how a changing climate will affect tropical glaciers and water resources. Vuille has participated in more than a dozen field trips to the Andes and Kilimanjaro.

He has published some 50 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on the topic of tropical climate change and is a contributing author to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Vuille received his doctorate from the University of Berne in Switzerland.
