Ellen Burns has taught music and liberal arts courses at Florida State University, Alabama State University, Northern Arizona University, Siena College, and The College of St. Rose; she occasionally teaches music at UAlbany. Her research--applying phenomenological philosophy to the interpretation and performance of music--has appeared in Analecta Husserliana, Angelíca: Revista de literatura; The Journal of Aesthetic Education; and Text: Transactions of the Society for Textual Scholarship. She has presented at regional meetings of the American Musicological Society; at national meetings of the Modern Language Association; the Lyrica Society; and at the Mozart Society of America; and at meetings of the International Society of Phenomenology, Aesthetics, and the Fine Arts; and the World Congresses of Phenomenology.
