2 Steps to a Safe and Secure Account beginning on August 15, 2018.




One + Two = A New Login for You!

Beginning this summer (2018), the University will be rolling out a new login process for students that offers greater protection against cyber threats.

  • This process adds a second step: the use of a one-time, secret code in addition to your password.
  • All registered students will be required to use the 2-Step login process by August 15.

Enrollment and Setup

When we enroll you, you will be presented with a prompt at your next login asking you to
setup a device (phone, tablet, etc.) that will receive the one-time, secret code, or push
notification if you are using an authentication app. You will then be asked to confirm
your choice by scanning a Quick Response (QR) code; or by copying and pasting both a
specified URL and a numeric code sent to your designated device.

2-Step Login

Once your device is setup, you will be ready for the 2-Step login process. In addition to
providing your credentials (email account or NetID + password), you will be prompted for
the one-time, secret code, or approval via the authentication app.

  • Step 1: Enter your credentials (email account or NetID + Password)
  • Step 2: Verify your identity via the one-time code, or the app = Logged in!
