About
Susan Ericsson has been instructing a range of communication and media courses for over a decade and joined UAlbany as a lecturer for the online strategic communication major in 2025. She has substantial experience working with and teaching people with wide-ranging backgrounds and identities, and places diversity at the forefront of her classes. She embraces traditional as well as alternative forms of education and encourages students to contribute to the learning goals of her classes.
Her work, grounded in both the social sciences and humanities, addresses persuasive techniques of communication, new media theories and practices, and global studies. Professionally, she has worked in public relations and as a producer/director of educational media. Her videos, such as Constructing Public Opinion, Tough Guise and Killing Us Softly 3, have received American Library Association honors and screened at a range of venues including South by Southwest Festival, Boston Museum of Fine Arts and the United Nations.
