Crista Wunsch

Crista Leigh Wunsch is a communications professional with more than 15 years of experience spanning broadcast journalism, public relations, corporate communications and higher education. She began her career as a radio news reporter and on-air personality, eventually becoming News Director for a cluster of Albany radio stations. Wunsch has led public relations and media strategy for organizations in the energy, healthcare and manufacturing sectors, specializing in strategic messaging, brand storytelling and executive visibility. 

She has taught in higher education since 2007, including as lead radio instructor at The New School of Radio and Television and as a longtime lecturer at Siena College. She teaches courses in journalism, public speaking, consumer behavior and public relations, and is excited to return to her alma mater, the University at Albany, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism. She also holds a master’s degree in communications from The College of Saint Rose. 

Wunsch is the former president of the Women’s Press Club of New York State and served on the board of the Alliance for Women in Media. She was one of the first bloggers for the Times Union with her blog "Crista Leigh On the Scene" and was a contributing writer for the CRUMBS local music blog.
