Professor Barbara Sutton Receives Senior Faculty Recognition
WGSS Professor Barbara Sutton was selected for a Senior Faculty Recognition based on her "impactful research/scholarship/creative work, collaborations, and extramural grant activity"—including her expansive study of women’s lives, body politics, violence, the dynamics of social inequalities, and the forces of societal transformation in Latin America.
Book Signing, Presentation of Bulletproof Fashion: Security, Emotions, and the Fortress Body
On Wednesday, October 18, 12 p.m., WGSS Professor Barbara Sutton will deliver a presentation and sign copies of her new book Bulletproof Fashion: Security, Emotions, and the Fortress Body.
The event will take place in the Standish Room on the 3rd floor of the Science Library on UAlbany's Uptown Campus.

Dr. Rachel Simon-Kumar, Associate Professor at the University of Auckland/Waipapa, will deliver a lecture, "Between Reproductive Choice and Sex Selection in New Zealand's Abortion Reforms: The Dilemma of Agency for Ethnic Minority Communities," on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023 at 3 p.m. at the University at Albany's Uptown Campus, Humanities 354. The event is free and open to the public.
