Rockefeller CLPS Interns Study Environmental Justice Policies
Three Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy undergraduate students are spending the Spring 2021 semester interning with the Center for Law & Policy Solutions (CLPS) at the Rockefeller Institute of Government. The six-student cohort composed of undergraduates from SUNY Empire State College and UAlbany include Rockefeller political science majors Genevieve Bombard, Catherine Reed, and Imari Roque.
Winter Grad Spotlight: Maire Grace Hewitt, BA ’18, MPA ’20
A December 2020 MPA graduate with a dual concentration in public finance and economics and environmental policy and politics, Maire Grace Hewitt also earned her BA in Political Science at UAlbany in 2018. While in her graduate program, Maire completed an internship with the Living Energy Group, LLC and was offered a full-time position upon the completion of her degree. Long term, she hopes to make a meaningful impact with a career in environmental justice.
Winter Grad Spotlight: Emily Schepisi, MPA ’20
Emily Schepis, MPA ’20 graduated in December with a dual concentration in policy analysis and public management. Emily was a part of the BA/MPA program, starting her graduate coursework while completing a dual BA in political science and social work at SUNY Fredonia. During her time at Rockefeller College, Emily completed an internship with the NYS Department of Health Office of Public Health Practice. In this position, she worked on a sustainability plan for re-accreditation, helped to restructure online trainings for NYLearnsPH.com, as well as identified courses to help the public workforce in response to the global health crisis. While completing her degree, Emily secured full-time employment as an analyst with Airam Actuarial Consulting.
Winter Grad Spotlight: Julia Alotta, BA ’20
Graduating with a BA in Public Policy in December 2020, Julia Alotta is continuing her academic journey at Rockefeller College as a part of the BA/MPA program with an interest in pursuing a career that addresses food security issues.
Protests for the Soul of a Nation: A Talk by Megan Ming Francis
On Tuesday, February 23rd, the Racial Justice Committee of the Political Science Department of Rockefeller College will host Megan Ming Francis for a talk entitled, “Protests for a Soul of a Nation.” All are welcome to participate.
