UAlbany Psychology graduate contributes chapter to anthology of women showcasing resiliency
Cassandra J. Edwards, a 2017 graduate of the University at Albany Psychology BA Program (with a double major in Criminal Justice), has contributed a chapter to an anthology published in November 2020 titled “21 Resilient Women: Stories of Courage, Growth, and Transformation” (available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/21-Resilient-Women-Stories-Transformation/dp/0981310478). Cassandra completed her honors thesis in Anna Reiman's lab in 2017. She also received a Master’s degree in mental health counseling from UAlbany in 2018.

Professor Friedman Awarded GRAMMY Museum Grant
University at Albany professor Ron Friedman was awarded a research grant from The GRAMMY Museum Grant Program for his study: Exploring the Links between Tone Language Use, Pitch Discrimination, and Musical Emotion Perception. Statement on Racism and Discrimination
The University at Albany Department of Psychology condemns, without qualification, racism, discrimination, violence, and threats of harm toward Black and Brown individuals locally, nationally, and globally. The accumulated psychological research evidence has pointed to a clear conclusion: Systematic explicit and implicit racism, discrimination, and bias against communities of colors permeate all corners of the globe and exert untold physical and psychological harm to these communities.

From Imagination to Altruism
