Call for Proposal
  • We invite high-quality submissions for research abstracts and posters related to, but not limited to, the themes and topics of the conference. Please submit the title of the paper or poster with an extended abstract (500-1000 words) no later than Jan. 26, 2024.
     
  • Selected presenters will be notified via email by Feb. 15, 2024. Presentations can be a poster, a 30-minute talk (15-20 minutes for oral presentation and 10 minutes for QA), or a 60-minute panel.

Dr. Kaiqun Fu

Dr. Kaiqun Fu holds an assistant professorship in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at South Dakota State University. 

He earned his PhD from Virginia Tech's Discovery Analytics Center in 2021. 

Dr. Fu's academic pursuits encompass Spatial Data Mining, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, GeoAI, Social Media Analysis and Urban Computing. 

His research projects have included social media mining for urban event detection, deep learning for urban perception, traffic impact analysis in smart cities and forecasting emerging technology trends. 

He has served as a PC member for IJCAI/ACM, SIGSPATIAL/SIAM and DM/IEEE BigData. 

His research projects have been supported by the National Science Foundation and South Dakota State University.

Dr. Jennifer C. Wei

Dr. Jennifer C. Wei, a distinguished NASA Project Scientist and data expert, brings over 15 years of invaluable experience to the forefront of Earth science data accessibility. 

As the Interdisciplinary Project Scientist at ESDIS's Earth Science Data System, she adeptly forges essential partnerships and guides satellite data teams to success. Dr. Wei's profound understanding of atmospheric science and remote sensing, combined with her expertise in data science, enables her to oversee projects with exceptional precision. 

Her leadership, marked by accolades and invitations to influential symposiums, glorifies her commitment to driving innovation in Earth science. As a primary liaison between ESDIS and the broader user community, she spearheads initiatives to enhance inclusivity and accessibility. Dr. Wei's unwavering dedication solidifies her stature as a driving force in advancing Earth science, where her vision and leadership continually foster innovation.
