Shawrona Perch
Alpha Pi Alpha Scholarship recipient Shawrona Perch plans to pay forward the assistance she’s received from the fraternity once she achieves her goal of becoming a primary care physician. “I enjoy helping people in need and feel this will be the best career path for me. This scholarship has been a blessing for me and my family.” Perch is a biology major and has taken advantage of the wide-ranging research opportunities that led her to choose UAlbany over other schools. She is also an active member of the Minority Association of Pre-Health/Medical Students and is looking forward to attending medical school in the future.
Perch has enjoyed learning from a variety of experiences she has had and people she has met on campus. She is happy to graduate and join UAlbany’s “amazing” alumni. Most of all, she is proud to be an inspiration to her little brother for all she has accomplished.
