College of Nanotechnology, Science, and Engineering

Engineers are the professional innovators who couple science to the economy, positively affecting people’s lives; this is why we view engineering as science in service to society.

Science in Service to Society

Our mission is to educate the next generation of engineering and scientific innovators, conduct leading-edge research of societal significance within and across traditional academic disciplines and prepare our students to assume leadership positions in the creation, application and use of technology.

We provide a research-intensive educational experience thats built on rigorous scientific and mathematical fundamentals and prepares students for the arc of a long career.

Research 1 (R1) Institution

CNSE is among the most vibrant engineering and computer science schools in the United States. Our faculty members are engaged in research activities that are at the forefront of the technologies that shape the world around us.

As part of a comprehensive, research-intensive and diverse educational institution, CNSE conducts research that collaborates with peers from from across the university and around the world to devise innovative, multidisciplinary and bold solutions to pressing societal problems.

CNSE Scholars Program

Our CNSE Scholars Program is a selective, invitation-only undergraduate offering that’s designed to accelerate the development of high-achieving students in areas such as semiconductor engineering, artificial intelligence, advanced materials and sustainability.

All majors within CNSE participate in the program — enabling cross-disciplinary connection while providing key contacts within your intended professional field.
