Visiting Assistant Professor Lester Hadsell Joins the Department

Professor Lester Hadsell

The Department of Economics is pleased to welcome Professor Lester (Les) Hadsell as our new Visiting Assistant Professor this semester.

He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and holds M.A. and B.A. degrees in Economics from the University at Albany as well as an A.A.S. in Data Processing from SUNY Cobleskill.

His research spans a wide range of fields, with recent work focusing on the influence of culture on economic preferences and public policy, government size, and satisfaction with life. He has also studied wholesale electricity markets and regional and local economic issues. Professor Hadsell’s scholarship has appeared in leading journals including the American Economic Review Papers & Proceedings, Applied Economics, Economics Letters, Journal of Comparative Economics, Eastern Economic Journal, Energy Journal, Journal of Futures Markets, and the American Journal of Economics and Sociology.

This semester, Prof. Hadsell will be teaching two of our core undergraduate courses: AECO 110: Principles of Economics I: Microeconomics and AECO 111: Principles of Economics II: Macroeconomics.
