2025 Graduate Award Winners

The Department of Economics is pleased to recognize this year's graduate award recipients. These honors were presented at the annual graduate student reception in recognition of outstanding achievements in teaching and preliminary exam performance.

The Helen Horowitz Award, established in honor of Professor Helen Horowitz to celebrate exceptional teaching by graduate students, goes this year to Ahmad Kharabsheh, Jiyan Bai, and Karan Bhasin. Their dedication and pedagogical skill have set a high standard in undergraduate teaching.

The award for Best Preliminary Exam Performer, given annually to a rising second-year PhD student for excellence in both microeconomics and macroeconomics prelims, is awarded this year to Wonjin Yoo, whose outstanding exam results reflect rigorous preparation and strong academic ability.
