Professor Gerald Marschke Awarded Sloan Foundation Grant

Professor Gerald Marschke

Professor Gerald Marschke is the principal investigator on a new $575,573 grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to study how U.S.-trained PhDs affect the broader economy. Working with researchers from Kenyon College, The Ohio State University, and the U.S. Census Bureau, the project links detailed data on PhD graduates to the businesses that employ them. The team will examine how doctorate holders contribute to firm growth, productivity, and the performance of coworkers—broadening the picture of how research training delivers value to the broader economy.
