The University at Albany has earned recertification for the prestigious Seal of Excelencia from Excelencia in Education, one of 18 colleges and universities to earn the Seal in 2025, recognized for its impact on student success.

The University at Albany is bringing back the Great Dane Dialogue, the campus-wide initiative promotes civil discourse, strengthens civic engagement and equips students with the skills to navigate disagreement with empathy, respect and purpose.

Over the summer, UAlbany students prepared and planted more than 200 urban trees, including many along South Pearl Street in Albany.

The University Art Museum is opening its fall season with the largest solo exhibition to date by artist Noel W. Anderson, Black Excellence. The show, which runs from now through April 3, 2026, brings together more than 35 works — tapestries, video and works on paper — that challenge viewers to reconsider history, identity and the stories embedded in images.

Alfred Navokhi Apaji spent the summer working on wastewater treatment and energy production solutions that he can eventually take home to his small town of Wukari in Nigeria, where the lack of regular electricity, clean water and waste disposal leads to frequent illness and missed school.

UAlbany students—whether they live on or off campus—will now have access to TimelyCare, a new virtual health and wellness platform offering 24/7 access to medical and mental health support.

UAlbany once again served as hosts for the Girls Inc. Eureka! Program, a free, five-year college readiness program that provides girls with an introduction to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
