State Quad

State Quad is comprised of all freshmen. All of the buildings on the quad provide a traditional residence hall environment and have personal bathroom facilities located within every suite. Laundry rooms are located in the basement of each building, while Tappan and Whitman Halls also have laundry rooms on each floor. Each building has a study lounge area on every floor with the exception of Eastman tower who has them on even floors. There is a Resident Assistant assigned to each floor/area. They are responsible for serving as a resource and facilitating community development on their respective floor/area.

The University at Albany's Advisement Services has established the Student Success Center, which is located on State Quad. Advisement uses this center to hold tutoring sessions or execute academic programs to assist students across the entire campus. State Quad the home of the Department of Residential Life, which is located at the basement of the Eastman Tower. The office is open from the hours of 9am - 5pm during the semester and 8am - 4pm during the summer sessions.

Whitman Hall host the State Quad Dining Facility, which is open to all students' campus wide. The hours of operation vary from year to year but an updated schedule can be found on https://ualbanydining.com.

There is also a SEFCU ATM located in the lobby of Whitman Hall. More information about banking services on campus may be found by visiting www.albany.edu/uas/banking.php.

Anthony, Cooper and Eastman Tower: House traditional students in corridor style rooms with internal bathrooms in every suite. All rooms are located within 4-, 5-, or 6-person suites. Anthony and Cooper have communal study lounges located on every floor and in the basement of their buildings. Eastman Tower's lounges can be found on all even floors and Penthouse of the building. Anthony and Cooper offer recess housing, meaning they remain open for students during all University recesses.

Fulton, Irving, Tappan, and Whitman: House students in Living-Learning Communities and Gender Inclusive Housing in corridor style rooms with internal bathrooms in every suite. All rooms are located within 4-, 5-, or 6-person suites. They have communal study lounges located on every floor and in the basement of their buildings. Fulton and Irving offer recess housing, meaning they remain open for students during all University recesses.

Melville and Steinmetz: House Honors College students in corridor style rooms with internal bathrooms in every suite. All rooms are located within 4-, 5-, or 6-person suites. They have communal study lounges located on every floor and in the basement of their buildings. Melville hall offers recess housing, meaning it remains open for students during all University recesses.
