Albany, NY (August 2, 2022) - More than 100 K-12 teachers and students, family and community members, and UAlbany faculty and students, attended the Freedom Dreaming for Educational Justice Exhibition Opening on June 10 in the Fine Arts Studio on campus. It was a moving celebration of the student and educator artists.

Provost Carol Kim and School of Education Interim Dean Ginny Goatley welcomed attendees, who then heard from the project’s director Kelly Wissman, several facilitators and student and faculty participants. The Exhibit remained open to the community through June 24 when UAlbany’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) hosted a lunchtime learning session with a tour from Dr. Wissman. The online gallery remains available for viewing.

Members of the Capital District Writing Project and the Freedom Dreamers will gather in September to reflect on the Exhibition and to plan for future freedom dreaming.
