About

Tanuj is a third-year student in the Counseling Psychology doctoral program at UAlbany. He was born and raised on Long Island, New York, and moved to the Capital Region in 2011.  

He received his bachelor's degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, then completed two years of medical school at Albany Medical College before changing career paths and joining UAlbany’s Counseling Psychology doctoral program.  

Some of his research interests include clinical supervision, suicide prevention and substance use. At UAlbany, Tanuj has taught a course in positive psychology and is interested in furthering research in that field. 

Professionally, he greatly enjoys working with the college student population and hopes to ultimately continue to provide therapy with college, graduate and medical students.  

Tanuj enjoys spending time with friends, trying out new restaurants, reading, enjoying stand-up comedy, movies and travel, spending time in nature, hiking, ice skating, working out, and playing tennis.
