Sandra Vergari

Dr. Sandra Vergari is an associate professor in the Department of Educational Policy and Leadership, and a faculty affiliate with the Department of Public Administration and Policy at the University at Albany, SUNY.
Vergari is a political scientist whose research focuses on PreK-12 education reform politics and policy, including charter schools, federalism, state policy, and comparative analysis of education governance and policy in Canada and the United States. Her work has appeared in policy reports, academic journals, and books.
Vergari’s teaching addresses issues in PreK-12 and higher education. She has mentored diverse populations of students pursuing careers in elementary and secondary education, higher education, research organizations, and the public policy arena.
