Dr. Jason Vickers is a full-time lecturer II in the Department of Educational Theory and Practice at the University at Albany, SUNY. He received his PhD in curriculum and instruction from University at Albany in Spring 2012.
In terms of research, he is interested in student self-assessment in online discussions, how this is perceived by students, and how this impacts subsequent discussion posts. He has also been long involved in research the Community of Inquiry framework for online learning. He has co-authored a book chapter on student social presence in online learning and authored a book chapter on student-student interaction in online learning.
Dr. Vickers has served on the department’s program committee and student committee. He currently chairs the department’s student committee.
