PhD Candidate Karan Bhasin Featured on VoxEU for Research on Fiscal Policy
We are pleased to share that research by Karan Bhasin, a PhD candidate in the Department of Economics, has been featured on VoxEU, the policy portal of the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR).
In the column titled “Designing fiscal consolidation to achieve fiscal sustainability and the sustainable development goals”, Bhasin and his co-author Prakash Loungani discuss how governments can design fiscal consolidation strategies that ensure long-term debt sustainability while minimizing adverse impacts on economic development. By analyzing various fiscal policy designs, the study provides critical insights for policymakers on how to achieve fiscal stability without compromising future development goals.
