Economics alum Kevin Phelps, MA '25, proves that dedication pays off!

While working full-time as an economist and starting a family, Kevin earned his degree from UAlbany's renowned economics program.

Now a Principal Economist at New York State Department of Labor, he credits his UAlbany education for his career advancement.

In his own words:

Through the economics program at UAlbany, I learned how to develop economic forecasts using statistical softwares.
I also gained a much more thorough understanding of economic theory, which has given me more confidence in my role as an economist.
As a result, my colleagues and customers value my opinion and actively seek my analysis and insights.
