Professional Interests

Dr. Cimini's professional interests include research and practice focused on strategies that support behavioral health, including prevention of alcohol and other drug abuse, mental health promotion and positive psychology, and suicide prevention. She also has experience in working with clients from diverse backgrounds with regard to age, race/ethnicity, gender identity and sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic status, and spirituality.

Approach to Therapy

Dr. Cimini uses Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and sees it as very important to focus on establishing a therapeutic relationship with her clients. She also practices Disability-Affirmative Therapy in her work with clients who have disabilities.

Dr. Cimini enjoys long-distance walking, traveling, and listening to classical and modern music.
