The following scholarships and grants have been offered to incoming UAlbany students to finance their first bachelor's degree since 2019.

Students who have received these scholarships can use this page to understand the requirements for renewing their awards each year, if applicable.

The total amount of financial aid offered to a student, including all scholarships and grants, cannot exceed the student’s annual cost of attendance. Institutional scholarships may be reduced to resolve such over-awards.

1844 Scholarship

New York State Residency: You must be a New York State resident. Determine your residency.
Satisfactory Academic Progress: You must have continued satisfactory academic progress (SAP) toward a degree.
Continuous Full-time Enrollment: You must be enrolled in at least 12 credits per semester. For a course to count towards full-time enrollment, you must receive a grade of A, B, C, D, E, S or U.
Continuous Good Academic Standing: If you are put on Academic Probation, Terminal Probation or Continuing Terminal Probation, or if you are dismissed, you will forfeit your award.
First Bachelor's Degree: You must be an undergraduate student pursuing your first bachelor's degree.

Academic Distinction Award

New York State Residency: You must be a New York State resident. Determine your residency.
Continuous On-campus Housing: You must live on Colonial Quad, State Quad, Dutch Quad, Indigenous Quad, Freedom Apartments or Liberty Terrace.
- If you choose to live off campus or in Empire Commons, you will forfeit the award.
- If you receive a room waiver, you will forfeit your housing award for the period you are receiving the waiver.

UAlbany Out-of-State Merit (Transfer)

Out-of-state Residency: You must be an out-of-state resident. Determine your residency.
Satisfactory Academic Progress: You must have continued satisfactory academic progress (SAP) toward a degree.
Continuous Full-time Enrollment: You must be enrolled in at least 12 credits per semester. For a course to count towards full-time enrollment, you must receive a grade of A, B, C, D, E, S or U.
Continuous Good Academic Standing: If you are put on Academic Probation, Terminal Probation or Continuing Terminal Probation, or if you are dismissed, you will forfeit your award.
First Bachelor's Degree: You must be an undergraduate student pursuing your first bachelor's degree.

UAlbany Room Grant (Transfer)

Continuous On-campus Housing: You must live on Colonial Quad, State Quad, Dutch Quad, Indigenous Quad, Freedom Apartments or Liberty Terrace.
- If you choose to live off campus or in Empire Commons, you will forfeit the award.
- If you receive a room waiver, you will forfeit your housing award for the period you are receiving the waiver.
