With a history spanning nearly 50 years, The University at Albany Foundation's Citizen Laureate Awards Dinner has honored more than 100 outstanding Capital Region leaders in business, industry, government, and academics, each of whom has helped transform our region in distinctive ways. One of the premier black-tie galas in the Capital Region, it is a signature fundraising event for UAlbany student scholarships.

The University at Albany Foundation’s Citizen Laureate Awards honor exceptional leaders while strengthening connections between the University and the community. As a signature fundraising event, proceeds support UAlbany students through scholarships, programs, and enhanced educational opportunities.
"Education has always meant a lot to me but finding the finances to afford it has been difficult. After graduation, I want to work in education policy and make higher education resources more accessible to students of color especially those in poorer communities. This award brings me one step closer to achieving that goal and maybe one day being able to have an impact on someone's education."
