CDWP Young Writers Programs

The Capital District Writing Project sponsors summer writing workshops for elementary, middle, and high school writers. Young people can sign up for workshops in creative writing, expository writing, and writing with new technologies. The Young Writers Programs are planned and staffed by dedicated Capital District Writing Project teachers.

For summer 2020, the workshops will be held July 13-17, 9am-1pm, on the UAlbany uptown campus. There are 5 workshops to choose from:

  • Writing like an artist (Grades 1-5)
  • Epic raps of histor-me! (Grades 6-12)
  • Create your own world (Grades 6-12)
  • Creative writing for the college essay (Grades 9-12)
  • What's your story: Writing memoir (Grades 9-12).

Cost: $200. For more information on each workshop and to REGISTER by June 1, 2020. Limited scholarships are available - scholarship application.
