The Girls Inc. Eureka! program was hosted virtually by the College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) on August 6, 2020. The program concluded recently with a culminating ceremony with Provost Carol Kim and CAS Dean Jeanette Altarriba participating. The program encourages middle and high school girls from underrepresented backgrounds to excel in STEM.

Dean Altarriba commented, “We are SO delighted that we have been able to offer educational opportunities, especially this year, in Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences, Mathematics & Statistics, Physics-ChoreoPhysics, and Psychology. We have been delighted to assist with the Girls Inc. Eureka! Program’s goal of engaging girls in informal STEM education through interactive activities through ZOOM this year, but in year’s past, we actually hosted girls on the UAlbany campus. Both venues helped to reinforce the importance of higher education. We look forward to a lasting partnership; and we hope to welcome many of the participants to the University at Albany in the future!”
