Recent SPH work was featured in the August 18, 2021 White House briefing, along with over 350 news stories. The research also falls in the top 5% of all research outputs scored by Altmetric, an online source that gives insight into how often – and where – scholarly outputs are discussed around the world.
School of Public Health Releases Results From Two New Infant and Mother Studies
Two new studies shed light on different factors impacting the health of mothers and newborns, with one study finding a link between neighborhood risk and birth outcomes, and a second indicating a relationship between maternal depression and gestational diabetes.
Team Led by Clinical Assistant Professor Recognized Nationally for Efforts to Improve Childhood Immunization Rates
ALBANY, N.Y. (August 26, 2021) - A team led by Dr. Danielle Wales (assistant professor of Pediatrics at Albany Med and clinical assistant professor at the UAlbany School of Public Health) has been selected as a Phase 1 winner in the Promoting Pediatric Primary Prevention (P4) Challenge by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources & Services Administration for its efforts to improve local childhood immunization rates in primary care settings.
