About

I received my specialized honors B.Sc. (Molecular Genetics with a minor in Microbiology) and M.Sc. (Molecular Virology) from the University of Guelph, Canada. I went on to work as a lab manager for 10 years in a large innovative embryonic stem cell biology lab under the direction of Dr. Bill Stanford at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Canada and the University of Toronto. In 2010 I moved to the University of Florida and worked at the Center for Neurogenetics under Dr. Laura Ranum for seven years as a Research and Development Manager. Most of my work and research focused on microsatellite diseases, such as Myotonic Dystrophy, Spinocerebellar Ataxias and C9ORF72 ALS, and the families affected by them. I became a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) in 2017 and have worked as a research study coordinator for IRB approved protocols and as a clinical trial manager. I have an extensive technical background across multiple scientific disciplines which provides me with a solid foundation on which to trouble shoot and support projects to completion. My approach is very goal-oriented with a focus on maximizing team productivity and optimal outcomes. I am very excited to have joined Dr. Andy Berglund’s lab here at the University at Albany in September 2018.
