UPD Safety Notice: Off Campus Robbery

Dear UAlbany Community,

The Albany City Police Department (APD) is investigating a robbery that occurred on Saturday August 28th, 2021 at approximately 3:45am, in the area of Western Ave and the College of St. Rose, Lima Parking Lot, in the City of Albany. Several masked subjects approached two UAlbany students and forcibly stole their property. The subjects then got into a dark colored vehicle and fled the scene.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident is urged to call APD at 518-462-8039.

  • Be aware of your surroundings: Immediately report suspicious persons or behavior to police.
  • Walk in groups: When possible, walk in groups of three or more. Data show that being with a group of people can help keep you safer than traveling alone.
  • Stay in well-lit areas: Do your best to travel in places that have good lighting.
  • See something, say something: Be sure to carry a fully charged cell phone with you and don’t hesitate to call 911 if you see something that doesn’t feel or look right.
