UAlbany Biological Sciences Associate Professor Cheryl Andam was featured in a segment on WAMC Northeast Public Radio the second week of July during “University at Albany Week” on The Academic Minute.

The Academic Minute features a two-and-a-half-minute segment each day, Monday through Friday, from researchers at colleges and universities around the world, keeping listeners abreast of what's new and exciting in higher education research.

Dr. Andam, who works on the genome evolution of bacterial pathogens with a focus on antimicrobial resistance, pathogenesis, and disease transmission, delivered a concise description of her research ("New Mechanism Driving Antimicrobial Resistance") and discussed its practical implications for public health.
