UAlbany President's Awards Spring 2022

UAlbany President's Awards for Leadership Abound for Cultural Connections, their Officers and Deserving International Students

(CIEGS, March 14, 2022) Cultural Connections student organization advised by ISSS has thrived this year under the leadership of their President Nina Tran. She and other executive board officers - Zaineb Ahmed (Vice President), Sunnah Yasin (Secretary) and Cami Tran (Treasurer) organized numerous cultural, educational and social activities, including their inaugural Cultural Connections Festival during International Education Week in November (IEW) 2021. These four student leaders began their journey together at Colonie High School as student leaders raising awareness of countries and cultures all around the world. Joined by other members of the executive board, Rouxin Zhu and Kristina Karamchand, and graduate assistants Chengyun Meng and Drew Somoray, these leaders have propelled forward Cultural Connections and earned their organization the special designation of the President's Awards for Leadership - Cultural Awareness. As noteworthy are Nina and Cami who are recipients of the President's Awards for Leadership: Outstanding Senior Award and the International Student Leadership Award (Nina), and Great Dane Award (Cami) respectively. 

We also have the amazing honor of congratulating several of our very own international student recipients of the UAlbany President's Awards for Leadership. Their friends, family and community should be very proud of these distinguished honors:
