March Matchness Scores More Than $590K for UAlbany Students

UAlbany March Matchness

April 7, 2023 — The University at Albany's fifth annual March Matchness giving challenge raised more than $597,000 in support of student scholarships and programs.

The award-winning fundraising event, held over two weeks from March 15 through March 31, allowed donors to invest in various areas within the University where the donors wanted to make the most impact. More than $210,606.56 was raised from 1182 individual gifts — a 10% increase from the previous year.

In addition, PepsiCo matched all gifts made during the giving challenge dollar for dollar, up to $100,000. The company has previously participated in the March Matchness giving challenge, which has earned international recognition for best practices in fundraising.

"At the center of UAlbany’s greatness are our donors,” says Dan Doyle, senior director of annual giving. “Every year, they rise to the challenge and are actively engaged and committed to ensuring our students have the opportunities to realize their full potential. I’m grateful proud to be a part of this community.”

Since its inception, the March Matchness Giving Challenge has garnered more than $3 million for student scholarships and programs.
